H&M Trend Update Lookbook

For the upcoming season, the famous Swedish high street giant, H&M comes with a casual and stylish collection that includes biker jackets, dresses , fitted pants and knits. The new “Trend Update” lookbook is modeled by Daria Stokous and it was shot by Peter Gehrke with art direction by Mikael Kangas.

Kyle Anderson l Accessories Director at Marie Claire

 ●  Since we talked last time, many changes have taken place meanwhile! Recently you have just been appointed as the new Accessories Director at Marie Claire, replacing Taylor Tomasi Hill. Tell us how do you feel in this new position and what this change means for you?

KA: I think of course its an opportunity for me to learn and to grow and working for Nina again is the perfect way to do this. Each day I’m learning a lot and at the same time I hope that I’m helping to bring Marie Claire in a direction that is always fun, smart, energetic, sexy and cool.

●  How excited are you to work again with Nina Garcia?

KA: I couldn’t be more excited to be working with Nina again. Over the past few weeks we’ve had a lot of fun working on our March issue together. Its great to share a very similar esthetic with your boss, especially when it comes to working at a fashion magazine. Nina and I are both looking for the coolest, newest things that will make girls excited – whatever the price whether it be a shoe for $79 or a bag for $10,000. Its very important to be supported by your boss in this industry because for most of us, we do this because its our passion. Which for a lot of people is difficult to understand. It’s not about a paycheck- Its what drives us. There is a lot of emotion behind editing accessories and Nina understands this. She’s devoted most of her life to this industry.

  ●  What are your plans for the beginning of the new year?

KA: I have a lot of shoots coming up. I just shot our first two accessories stories for March and the second week of January I have a big story I’m shooting for April. In January I’m also going to Switzerland for the watch show. Then NY, Milan, Paris Fashion Weeks and back to Switzerland again for the second watch show. I’m also sort of planning the whole season as to what I hope to accomplish with the accessories department, what stories we want to cover and what direction we want to go. We are planning a lot of new things for the 2012 issues and I’m excited to show everyone some new things in the coming months.

●  Which are your latest purchases in your wardrobe?

KA: One thing that I really needed was a new winter coat. Something really warm because I spend a lot of time walking outside. I bought this Givenchy coat from Bergdorf Goodman a few days ago and Its really warm and its black so I know I’ll wear it 1,000 times. I also ordered and it arrived like 2 days later this Givenchy sleeveless hooded sweatshirt from Luisaviaroma.com
Its cool and sexy and black so again I know I’ll really wear it which I’ve realized is the most important thing. Not buying a “trend” that you can only wear a few times but buying pieces that you really love that you know you can wear a million times.

Chanel’s Pre-Fall 2012 fashion show presented last week at Grand Palais in Paris, started the magnificent and exquisite looks appeared in explosions of gold, metallic hues, white or black everywhere which provided a luxury and elegance attachment on every design. The theme chosen by Karl Lagerfeld for this collection was Paris-Bombay, inspired by the jewels and fabrics of India.

Dresses or skirts over pants, gold-embroidered tunics,a liquid-gold lamé dress with sari-like draping, nose rings, bangles, beaded sandals, and flat booties are just a few trends that Lagerfeld highlights in his newest collection for the French fashion house, Chanel.

Exclusive Interview with Fabryan’s Designer l Samantha-Jane

Launched in 2010 by head designer and owner Samantha-Jane, Fabryan is a new luxury label based in London, specialising in Ready-to-Wear and Bespoke pieces. Offering a selection of versatile pieces, perfect for a smooth day and evening transition , Fabryan captures luxury with its distinctive, quintessential feminine signature for the modern women.

● When did you realize you wanted to become a fashion designer? And how hard is to manage your own label?

S.J: I’ve always had an interest in fashion design and art. I guess subliminally I wanted it to happen. I finally took the plunge in 2010.

● What do you like best about designing clothes and what’s the biggest satisfaction?

S.J: One can be going about their everyday life and you see something that suddenly triggers an idea for a design. I get a lot of buzz from seeing my deigns on the catwalk.

● What are your favorite colors to work with and why?

S.J: Black. Not only is it my favourite colour. Many women look very good in this colour. And its a good canvas to accessories with colours

● How would you define London’s fashion?

S.J: Chic and Trendy

● What a women can’t miss to have in her wardrobe from Fabryan latest collection ?

S.J: This year we launched our accessories range, part of which is our Psychedelic Scarf collection, these are proving very popular. Scarves are an indispensable accessory to every woman’s wardrobe.

● What inspires you and your designs?

S.J: Spring/Summer 2012 collection was inspired by Red carpet glamour. The dresses were designed with a philosophy of simplicity and elegance in mind and intelligently matches beauty with style.

● What can we expect from Fabryan in the future?

S.J: Hopefully you can expect good things from Fabryan! At the moment we are working on a Jewellery collection. We will also be working on new fashion concept to add to our accessories range for 2012.

● Where’s your favorite place to travel ?

S.J: New York

The American fashion designer, Tom Ford has finally unveiled his Spring/Summer 2012 Collection presented in September in a private and exclusive fashion show with buyers and press but with no photographers. The wait is over and it was well worth it!

Versace for H&M Fashion Show

Last night, the Versace for H&M collection was launched at a celebrity packed event in New York! Jessica Alba, Blake Lively, Alexander Wang, Linda Evangelista, Emma Roberts, Uma Thurman and Ke$ha joined Donatella Versace at the specially designed building on the Hudson River in New York.

The Versace for H&M collection was shown on the catwalk alongside with some iconic pieces created just for this exclusive show. A second scene in this fabulous venue was entered by Prince and Nicki Minaj who gave an exclusive concert. A glamorous after-party followed in true Versace style for hours.The Versace for H&M collection goes on sale at around 300 stores worldwide and online on November 17th.
