Yesterday took place at Grand Palais in Paris , Chanel Fashion Show, where Karl Lagerfeld presented one of the most awaited collections for the Spring/Summer 2012 season, in a fantastical underwater world backdrop with giant sculptural white oysters, clams, coral reef and sparkling sand.
For this collection Karl Lagerfeld was inspired by the movement of seaweed, its lightness, and by certain fish that have very modern shapes, like sting rays. The line is dominated by a color palette of matte black, light blue, mint green, shell pink or ivory, abstract prints, airy and soft fabrics as silk or chiffon, classic and feminine shapes.
Chanel’s collection offers silver-blue ribbon-strung cropped blazer, tweed jackets accented with pearl buttons and belts, white swimsuits with clear printed jackets, a series of sherbet-hued knit looks, black and white dresses, tee-shirts topped with shoulder pad, scale-like skirts. About the accessories all evoke perfectly the aquatic theme.
